Nintendo’s next generation console, the Wii U, made its grand debut into the world today.

At E3 2012, the annual electronics and gaming convention in Los Angeles, Nintendo unveiled the hotly anticipated console, as well as 23 game titles to be produced.

Nintendo did a short demonstration of the actual Wii U controller at E3. However, they also urged interested users to check out its E3 website for more detailed information about how the console operates.

Nintendo also revealed that the Wii U system will support 2 Wii U Game Pads, as well as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Video and YouTube.

Nintendo showcased a number of first-party titles, including a brand new version of Super Mario Brothers. Another highlight was the karaoke-style singing game, Sing, which uses the Wii U controller to display lyrics.

Nintendo also plans to update the Wii Fit fitness accessory, incorporating the Wii U Game Pad into gameplay with the Wii Fit.

Although Nintendo released more information about the Wii U than previously ever recorded, they still have not announced an official release date. Currently, Nintendo is still targeting a 2012 release.
